Spin the World Around
This painting holds a special place in my heart. It is so special, I’m not sure I’d ever like to sell it.
I painted it during our lockdown here in Spain. The World felt like it was going nuts! As we all know it was a very uncertain, slightly scary time and suddenly family were a long, long way away.
Despite the doom and gloom, there were tales of good deeds and kindness. Countries joined together to combat this scourge and shared information. Vaccines were made in record fast time. We all started appreciating life differently.
I found refuge in my Studio and almost revelled in not being able to go out. Painting made me feel peaceful. There is a lot of light and, upon closer inspection, you can see colour in the darker sections. I felt like I was painting my happy place underwater. My husband thought it was a view from outer space looking down on the World.
Although the World was in a vortex of uncertainty and chaos, it kept turning. Life continued. There was light at the end of the tunnel. There always is if you look for it.
